Professional Painters in Kanata, Ottawa

Kanata is where Maple City Painters has its roots. The houses here range from 1960s Beaverbrook to subdivisions finished in the last few years, and each era needs its own approach.

Painting in Kanata

Your Kanata painting contractor

Kanata became part of the City of Ottawa in 2001, but it grew up as its own place. Its first planned neighbourhood, Beaverbrook, went up in the 1960s with houses set among trees and walking paths. Later decades filled in Katimavik, Glen Cairn, Bridlewood and Kanata Lakes, and building hasn't really stopped since. Today the area mixes family homes and townhouses with the offices of the Kanata North tech sector, and the Canadian Tire Centre sits beside Highway 417.

We're a family-owned crew, licensed and insured, and most of our work is residential interiors: living rooms, hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and ceilings. We also take on exteriors, cabinets and commercial spaces. Estimates are free, and you'll get a written proposal with structured payment stages before any work starts, so the scope and the cost are clear from day one. What Kanata Homes Need, Decade by Decade

The age of a Kanata house tells you a lot before you step inside. Homes from the 1960s and 1970s often have popcorn or stipple ceilings, original trim that has been painted over several times, and walls patched by more than one owner. If a textured ceiling went up before 1980, we arrange asbestos testing with a certified inspector before touching it. When a test finds asbestos, a licensed abatement contractor has to remove it before we do any finishing or painting.

Houses from the 1990s onward bring different issues. Many still wear the flat builder paint they came with, which scuffs easily and shows every wipe. Oak and stained kitchens and vanities from that period are good candidates for cabinet painting. Outside, south and west walls take the most sun, and fascia, soffits and garage doors are usually the first things to peel after a few Ottawa winters.

Is Maple City Painters a Kanata company?

Maple City Painters has its roots in Kanata and is family owned and operated. Today we serve the greater Ottawa region, including Stittsville, Nepean and the rest of the west end. Kanata homeowners can reach us at 613-890-3000, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How long does it take to repaint the inside of a Kanata townhouse?

Most residential projects take between 1 and 5 days, depending on size and the condition of the walls. A townhouse with a few rooms and light patching sits toward the shorter end. Heavier drywall repairs, high stairwells or ceiling work push it longer. Your written proposal sets out the full scope before we start.

Can you paint our office in Kanata North?

Yes. Commercial interiors such as offices, suites and common areas are part of what we do. Every business runs on a different schedule, so we'll discuss timing with you, including whether work can happen around your hours, before we put the quote together.
